  1. Before going for the ingredients, fire the tandoor so logs will be coals when it’s time to grill.
  2. Slice Cheddar, camembert and normantal. Slice onion and bread. Chop 3-4 rosemary sticks and 3-4 sage leaves.
  3. Whisk 3 egg yolks, add oil halfway. Mix with 1 tsp. of lemon salt and 1 tbsp. of mustard. Sprinkle with lemon juice (to taste)
  4. Preheat the pan, grease it with oil.
  5. Toss onions to the pan. Fry for a minute until slightly brown. Add salt to taste, 1 tsp. of red pepper, 1.5 tsp. of brown sugar. Let the sugar melt, caramelize the onions until golden brown. When almost ready add chopped sage and rosemary, mix everything well.
  6. Spread the step #3 onto two bread slices from one side.
  7. Melt in the pan 1 tsp. of butter. Place bread slices with spread part down. Add cheese slices above. Let it slightly melt, add caramelized onion in the center and fold both bread slices.
  8. Enjoy! Bon Almazan!

After you add the mustard and salt, to the eggs, there is a brown creamy ingredient added and I can’t figure out what it is.

  2. Masha

Egg yolk and oil are actually mayonnaise when mixed well. This is why is white….

  3. Zan

I plan to follow the ingredients.. But I cant find normantal cheese anywhere.. What is the replacement or similar taste to normantal?

  4. Natasha

He made mayonnaise. Egg yolks and oil make mayo.

I echo the other comments…please add the measurements. Made this while guessing and it turned out pretty darn good. Used basil instead of sage and rosemary, olive oil and olive oil butter. Cheddar, Swiss and havarti, @pragerbros. Whole wheat sour dough. Will make again for my lucky boyfriend for sure. Love love love the video and knife, but that knife scares me!)

I made this but forgot the sugar and it was the most delicious thing I’ve ever made. Will definitely do this again for Father’s Day.

Can u leave measurements and descriptions for the ingredients… Like what type of mustard? Can u use normal salt instead of lemon salt… And how did the yolk mix turn white with just mixing with oil? Did u miss something else prior to you adding the salt and mustard? And what red pepper? Red pepper flakes? I want to make this badly.

My husband and I made this for Valentines Day. It was indeed the best grilled cheese in the world. Amazing.
